The HDIÆ3000cv ultrasound system is an example of advanced non-invasive
imaging technology. Ultrasound is increasingly used as a first line investigation to
eliminate many unnecessary referrals for procedures such as CT, MRI and angiography. In
many cases, ultrasound provides an accurate, painless and cost-effective alternative to
these procedures.
The HDI 3000 is based on all-digital
beamforming architecture and broadband transducers, allowing high-resolution, real-time
and dynamic interrogation of any soft-tissue or organ. Anatomy and function can thus be
accurately depicted. Precise haemodynamic information is provided by the simultaneous
application of spectral (pulsed and continuous wave) and colour Doppler. Colour Power Angio imaging is a new technology which allows sensitive
detection of low velocity flows in small and inaccessible vessels. It also provides a
valuable adjunct for cardiac wall motion assessment, particularly in overweight or
difficult to image patients.
